How Sweat DC Grew 300+ Members In 12 Months

1. “Free/Discounted offers”

Thanks to their “7 days for $7” and “free 6 week challenge” type offers, the majority of Sweat DC’s leads were of very low quality.

We changed the offer to appeal to high-intent leads that were desperate for the gym’s services - not just people wanting a discount.

2. Ineffective manual follow ups

Doing follow up manually with personal devices meant leads were going cold & sales were being missed.

Installing our automated system meant leads got an impressive "red carpet treatment" before they ever walked through their doors without the team lifting a finger.

3. Low retention

Due to the nature of the offers SweatDC were running, their membership churn sat at 3 months. Members were leaving because they weren’t bought into the vision of changing their bodies long term.

When we focused on honest, transformation based marketing, average retention soared to 12+ months.

4. Appointment show rate

SweatDC’s appointment show rate was far below industry standards at 29%.

After automating their lead nurture & follow up, we increased their show rate to 71%. Which over the next 6 months resulted in $62,256 in additional revenue.

5. Sales Method

Due to previous advice from a marketing agency, Sweat DC were reliant on high pressure, “bait-and-switch” sales tactics which left the majority of leads feeling manipulated and upset.

After switching to our ‘Serve First’ Sales Process [consulting, listening, caring and prescribing (not selling)], they began to average an impressive 76% close rate.

By July 2023, Sweat DC had seen so much success with their flagship location, it was time for them to start opening up more locations.

Using our pre-sale campaigns for their new location, they produced leads at an average $7.31 and a cost per acquisition of $42. And within 4 weeks they had opened a 3rd location with the same success. They then opened their fourth location 6 months later.

The increase in opportunity at the gyms were due to our unique Facebook and Instagram ‘Local Hero Campaign’, driving high-intent leads through their SweatDC marketing funnel. 

And when combined with a “Serve First” Sales Model, Sweat DC was able to achieve all-time membership sales records with their brand new locations.
